FCCLA is sponsoring Foods for Families tonight from 6:30-7:30pm. We will be servicing Bement, Ivesdale, and Milmine. All donations will be given to the Bement Food Pantry. To participate, please turn on your porch light and set your non-perishable items outside. We cannot accept any expired items. Please check the dates prior to donating.

Ella Corum was named Bement High School Student of the Quarter. Ella is in the Education Pathway Program (ECCA) at Parkland College. Ella participates in Softball, Volleyball, Cheer, Band, FCCLA, Lifesavers, Spanish Club, Student Council and National Honor Society. Ella is the daughter of Chad and Angie Corum.
The Student of the Quarter Award is co-sponsored by the High School Student Council and the State Bank of Bement. Its purpose is to recognize a student whose attitude and involvement serve to improve our school.

Miss Stimson's First Grade Class visited the Lake of the Woods in Mahomet, IL. They learned about animal life and their habitats.






The Village of Bement is sponsoring a free coat giveaway on Saturday, November 2 from 8:00 AM-12:00 PM at Crossroads Church, 111 E Bodman St.


BEMENT CUSD 5 VETERANS DAY PROGRAM
Bement CUSD 5 will be hosting a school and community Veterans Day program on Monday, November 11 in Walsh Gymnasium at 9:00 AM. All area veterans are encouraged to attend and will be seated as a group on the gym floor. The music department will provide special music. The entire community is invited to attend the Veterans Day program. Join us as we honor and thank local veterans for their service to our country.

After a heavy selection process of 200 student nominations, 5 Bement High School students were selected to participate in Millikin's High School Honor Band. This past Monday, they spent the entire day working on 6 pieces of music with the conductor, worked in instrument specific master classes to learn different playing strategies and techniques, and performed that evening for a large crowd alongside Millikin's Symphonic Band.



Katelyn Rogers, Class of 2013, and Kiersten Rogers, Class of 2019, spoke to high school students this morning on job opportunities and careers in the healthcare field. Thanks for coming back and sharing your experiences with our students.




Bement High School students attended the Deland Weldon Career Fair that focused on many local trade unions, agriculture, EMT’s, police and fire departments. The students were able to visit a construction site of the wind farm that is going up in the northern part of the county. Thank you Deland Weldon School District and Matt Goldman, High School Principal, for the invitation. The weather was great.











Sarah Hill was recognized during a middle school assembly for qualifying at the State Cross Country Meet in Peoria last weekend. Way to go Sarah!
