
A few high school students attended the Automotive/Collision Repair Career Exploration Day at Parkland College. Mrs. Nelson, Guidance Counselor, took the students on the trip. The students had a great day.

2 middle school students participated in the JHOC Spelling Bee in Arthur on Tuesday. Cecelia Cain placed 6th out of 24 and Laurel Conlin placed 10th out of 24. Olivia Dalton and Mackenzie Kendall attended as alternates. The students’ performed remarkably well and were exceptional representatives of Bement School District.

Bement High School Accepting Hall of Fame Nominations
The Bement Board of Education began its annual Bement High School Hall of Fame Award in 1991, with the naming of Sereno Bodman and Gary Gallagher as its first members. Since its inception, sixty-six Bement High School graduates have been named to the Hall of Fame.
Each year as many as two BHS graduates are selected to be honored. To qualify for membership a graduate or honorary alumnus must have achieved outstanding success in his or her career field, and/or contributed significantly to his or her community.
The Bement Community Unit School District 5 accepts written nominations at 201 S. Champaign St., Bement, IL, 61813, through March 31st of each year. Nomination forms are available in the high school office or on the district website. All nominations must be received by March 31, 2025.
All nominations are reviewed in the spring and the honorees are announced in May. They are recognized and receive their award at the homecoming football game in the fall.

FCCLA week kicks off Monday, February 10th. FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America) Week is a national celebration held annually to recognize and promote the organization’s impact on students, schools, and communities. It highlights the leadership, career preparation, and service opportunities that FCCLA provides through various activities and events. This week serves as a time for members to reflect on their growth, celebrate achievements, and inspire others to get involved in shaping a better future.
