A few high school students attended the Automotive/Collision Repair Career Exploration Day at Parkland College. Mrs. Nelson, Guidance Counselor, took the students on the trip. The students had a great day.










Congratulations to our kitchen staff for receiving a perfect food safety assessment score. A perfect score is very difficult to achieve. Way to go Loretta and Jeanette! Not pictured – Judy and Sam.


The Bement Breeze team (8th Grade STEM Class) won first place in the middle school division in the Illinois KidWind Project at Heartland Community College!

8th Grade STEM students participated in the KidWind Challenge this morning at Heartland Community College. Results of the competition will not be known until next week. The students did a great job this morning!

HS Girls Basketball Announcements:
Tonight, February 10 is Senior Night at Cerro Gordo starting at 6:00 (one game only)
The Wednesday game is being moved to Tuesday, February 11 due to the forcasted weather for Wednesday. The game will start at 6:00 on Tuesday, February 11 (one game only) in Cerro Gordo.

Reminder that there will be no school for Bement CUSD #5 on Friday, October 11th, or Monday, October 14th.


Reminder: Bement CUSD 5 students dismiss at 12:00 on Friday, August 30 and there is no school on Monday, September 2.

The CGB Baseball game for today at Fisher has been cancelled due to rain. There will be NO practice today, August 15, 2024.

CGB Athletics Booster Club Meeting - Wednesday, June 5 at 5:30 in the Cerro Gordo Commons. We will elect officers and plan a few Booster Club Events to start the school year.
If you have children who attend Bement or Cerro Gordo and participate in JH or HS Athletics please come and participate in the Booster Club.
Your support and participation is important to the future of CGB Athletics.


Online registration will begin on Monday, July 15.

Miss Lennox Hayes was our Principal for the Day.
She was an Amazing Principal who supervised K-2 and MS /HS lunch, delivered packages, made copies, sorted mail, prepared the lunch party for Elementary students and sent emails.
Lennox has a real future as a Principal!!


Sunshine Supplies for Teachers presented Kate Ruggless with a balloon and gift card in recognition for her 40 years in education. Mrs. Goebel, Bement Middle School ELA teacher, nominated her for this honor. We are so glad Mrs. Ruggless has been with our district for the last 7 years. Enjoy your retirement and we will miss you!
