BHS Service Learning

Coordinator: Angie Corum

This program is designed to give students the opportunity to learn and practice the value of helping others. During their high school career, students are required to complete a total of 10 hours in order to graduate:

  • Freshmen-2 hours

  • Sophomores-2 hours

  • Juniors-3 hours

  • Seniors-3 hours

To receive credit for their work, students need to have the following form completed and returned to Mrs. Corum.

Qualifications for service hours:

  1. Service projects can be done on-campus or off-campus Fill-out, get signed, and return the appropriate form. Service recipients must sign the form.

  2. Students cannot receive any form of monetary payment for their work.

  3. Hours do not apply to requirements done for a student's organization.

  4. Service hours cannot be performed for immediate family members.

  5. Student conduct must follow school guidelines and work ethics.

  6. Hours for the current shool year are accumulated from the first day following the previous school years' deadline in May to the current school years' deadline in May.

Current Service Learning Opportunities

January Service Learning Opportunities

  •  2 volunteers are needed to be runners at the Bement Lions Club Trivia Night on Saturday, January 10th at 7pm. See Mrs. Corum to sign up.

  •  If you like working with numbers, we are needing a few volunteers to add up JTA receipts during their study hall. See Mrs. Corum to sign up.

  • Concession Stand Opportunity- Tuesday, January 20th 5pm,6pm,7pm. Volunteer to run the concession stand for a JHVB game.
