Bement Homecoming 2023

Homecoming will be celebrated on Friday, September 15, 2023, with “Superheroes” as the theme. 

 

The following students have been selected as this year’s Homecoming court:  Joie Auth, daughter of Sarah Bales of Bement and Danny Auth of Bement, escorted by Jacob Flach, son of Ashley and Jefferey Flach of Bement; Caroline Hill, daughter of Tara and Bart Hill of Milmine, escorted by Evan Fogerson, son of Janice and Curt Fogerson of Bement; Erin Rogers, daughter of Marisa and Kraig Rogers of Decatur, escorted by Cody Robinson son of Sandra and John Robinson of Bement; Skye Tieman, daughter of Tosha Hooker and Jim Hutchcraft of Bement, escorted by Cole Stoerger, son of Joy Barragan of Savoy and Wes Stoerger of Bement.

 

Kindergarten attendants are: Tiffany Hostetler, daughter of Jennifer and Dan Tavenner of Bement and Lester and Teri Hostetler of Lovington and Declan Shonkwiler son of Kaci Shonkwiler of Bement and Blake Shonkwiler of Bement.  

 

The annual Homecoming Parade will begin at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, September 15th with Grand Marshals Karla Bradley and Jani Hamilton leading the parade.  The parade route will begin at the school and continue north on Piatt Street, west on Bodman Street, south on Rt. 105, and east on William Street back to the school.   

 

At 7:00 P.M., the Cerro Gordo Bement Broncos will take on the Nokomis RedSkins at the football field.  During half-time, the marching band will perform. The homecoming court will be introduced and float winners will be announced.  The late Stephanie Shonkwiler, class of 1995, will be inducted into the 2023 Bement High School Hall of Fame.  

 

The 2023 Bement High School Homecoming Coronation will take place on September 16th at 8:00 P.M. in the Walsh Gymnasium.  Quinn Flavin and Katherine Quick, Bement High School seniors, will be the emcees for the coronation.  There will be a picture-taking opportunity for the public immediately following the coronation.  The dance will begin at approximately 8:30 P.M. and end at 10:30 P.M.
