Bement CUSD #5 is excited to welcome students and families to the 2026–2027 school year! Before students return, we invite our families and community to join us for two special back-to-school events.

Ribbon Cutting and Community Open House

Join us on Sunday, August 9, from 2:00–4:00 p.m. as we celebrate the completion of our new gym vestibule addition.

The event will begin with a welcome and recognition at 2:00 p.m., followed by the official ribbon cutting at 2:15 p.m. Afterward, guests may tour the new addition, renovated weight room, and updates to Walsh Gym and enjoy complimentary refreshments.

The new addition features a secure entrance, flexible learning area, ADA-accessible restrooms, concession area, and an indoor connection between Walsh Gym and the Industrial Technology Building.

Bulldog Back-to-School Bash

Our Bulldog Back-to-School Bash will be held Monday, August 10.

Elementary families are invited from 5:30–6:30 p.m. to meet their teachers, visit classrooms, and drop off school supplies. Middle and high school families are invited from 6:00–7:00 p.m. to set up lockers, meet teachers, and walk through student schedules.

All families are encouraged to visit the gym to learn about school programs and community opportunities. Families may also tour the new addition and renovated weight room.

FREE Kona Ice will be available, and families may purchase food from Burrito King and Patty Daddy’s.

First Days of School

The first day of school for students in kindergarten through 12th grade is Wednesday, August 12. Preschool students will begin Thursday, August 13.

Families should watch for emails from their child’s principal with important information about registration, schedules, arrival and dismissal procedures, and the beginning of the school year.
