Bement Elementary School - Full-Time Paraprofessional (Anticipated opening starting March 2026)
Bement Elementary School is looking for a full-time paraprofessional to work on student attendance days plus all in-service days. This position is responsible for assisting students and teachers in the classroom setting.
Qualifications: Must have a high school diploma and register with ROE 39. Experience working with children in an educational setting is preferred but not required.
Hourly Rate: Hourly rate of pay $17.00 (negotiable based on experience) with board paid health, dental, and vision insurance. This position is IMRF qualified. Leave Days: will be prorated based on start date.

Bement Elementary School - First Grade Teacher (26-27 School Year)
Bement CUSD 5 is seeking a dedicated and passionate Elementary Teacher for First Grade to join our team.
Duties:
● Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with Illinois Learning Standards.
● Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports student learning and growth.
● Use a variety of instructional strategies to meet diverse student needs, including differentiated instruction and technology integration.
● Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and parents to support student success.
● Participate in professional development and school-wide initiatives.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree or higher. Valid Illinois Professional Educator License and endorsements for this position.
Salary/Benefit: The estimated starting salary for a candidate with a Bachelor’s Degree is $41,768.57. The employee’s Teachers’ Retirement System (TRS) contribution of $4,093.32 is paid by the district. The district currently contributes $815.00 per month toward individual employee health insurance and provides dental insurance, vision insurance, and a $10,000 life insurance policy.
