Bement Middle/High School - Anticipated Middle School ELA Teacher or Long-Term Substitute 2026-2027
Bement Middle/High School is seeking a Middle School English Language Arts Teacher or Long-Term Substitute for the 2026-2027 school year. The anticipated start date is September 28, 2026.
Qualifications: Appropriate Illinois Professional Educator License and endorsementpreferred. Candidates who are appropriately licensed to serve as a long-term substitute will also be considered. Applicants should demonstrate strong classroom management, communication skills, and the ability to build positive relationships with middle school students.
Full-Time Certified Teacher: Salary will be based on the 2026-2027 BEA salary schedule, with placement determined by education and applicable experience. The BA/Step 1 salary is $46,122.34, including TRS. The complete 2026-2027 BEA salary schedule is available here.

Long-Term Substitute Compensation: Long-term substitutes are paid $140 per day for the first 10 days in the position. Beginning with the 11th day in the position, compensation will be based on the base salary level of the 2026-2027 BEA salary schedule found here. The full-time certified teacher benefit package listed above does not apply to long-term substitute positions.

Bement CUSD#5 - Substitute Custodian Position
Bement CUSD #5 is accepting applications for a substitute custodian to provide coverage as needed. Duties may include cleaning classrooms, restrooms, hallways, offices, and common areas; emptying trash; assisting with event setup; and completing other custodial tasks as assigned.
Applicants should be dependable, able to work independently, and committed to maintaining a clean and safe environment for students and staff. The position may include daytime or evening hours, depending on the District's needs.
Starting pay: $16.00 per hour. This substitute position is not eligible for benefits.

Bement Elementary School - Supervisor
Bement CUSD 5 is hiring a supervisor to work on student attendance days.
This position is responsible for greeting students on the elementary playground before school and monitoring students at lunch in the cafeteria and at recess.
Qualifications: Must have a high school diploma or GED.
Pay Rate and Benefits: $16.11 per hour, this position does not qualify for any additional benefits.

Bement Elementary School - Special Education Paraprofessionals
Bement Elementary School is seeking a full-time Special Education Paraprofessionals for the 2026-2027 school year. These positions work all student attendance days and scheduled institute/in-service days while providing support to students and teachers in the classroom.
Qualifications: Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent and meet Illinois paraprofessional licensure requirements through ROE #39. https://www.roe39.org/page/how-to-become-a-paraprofessional Experience working with children in an educational setting is preferred but not required.
Hourly Rate: $17.00 per hour (negotiable based on experience)
