Current Covid Guidelines

Dear Bulldog Families,

Thank you for your part in making the school year get off to a great start.  I want to make sure that you are aware of the current IDPH guidelines our schools are following for COVID related symptoms.  If a student has a fever, moderate to severe persistent headache, shortness of breath, new cough, sore throat, vomiting, diarrhea, and/or new loss of taste/smell then they will be asked to isolate.  If the student tests positive then they will follow the guidelines below.  If they test negative then they will need to stay home until 24 hours after the symptoms have subsided.

  • If a person tests positive for COVID they need to quarantine for 5 days from the onset of symptoms.  They should wear a mask through day 10 after the onset of symptoms.
  • For counting purposes:
    • the first day of symptoms is day 0
    • Example of quarantine for 5 days from onset: symptoms begin on August 9 making that day 0, quarantine ending after 5 days makes August 14 the last day of quarantine.
    • Example of masking for 10 days: with August 9 being the first day of symptoms then masking will go through August 19.  No masking starting on August 20.
  • If a person tests positive for COVID and they have 2 negative tests within 48 hours of day 5 after symptoms then they do not need to wear a mask.
  • If a person is exposed to someone who has tested positive for COVID then the person exposed is not required to quarantine.  The person who has been exposed should monitor for COVID symptoms and it is suggested that they wear a mask for 10 days.
  • We will not be contact tracing.

Please continue encouraging proper hand washing.  Have a great week!
