Free Meals for Children Ages 0-18 in Bement CUSD 5
Bement school district is applying for a waiver that will allow us to provide free lunch and breakfast for all children in our district until the end of December. This includes children who are here for in-person instruction, remote learners, home-schooled children and any other children ages 0-18.
We will provide curb-side pick-up for those children who are not attending in-person instruction. It will be every Monday from 2:15-3:00 in the bus turnaround. The first pick-up day will be September 14th. If you are interested in getting the free meals, you must call the office at (217)678-4200 ext. 1 for high school and ext. 2 for elementary and middle school age children by September 9th to get on the list for pick-up.
We need to know by this deadline so that we can order enough food to prepare to make sure that all children are being fed. Once you are on the list, you will be responsible for picking up meals during this time period every Monday until you notify the office of any changes.
