Meet the teacher!

I grew up in a rural Cissna Park where my district had a strong music program that greatly influenced my music career. I received my B.A. in Music Education with a vocal emphasis from Millikin University in 2007 and I was also lucky enough to do my student teaching here in Bement where my family and I reside. I also obtained my Masters of Science in Family and Consumer Sciences in 2017 from Eastern Illinois University. I taught 1 year out of the district, and came to Bement in 2008.  My husband Chad coaches football for Cerro Gordo-Bement as well as working full time for the Village of Bement. We are blessed with a daughter, Ella, and a son, Korbyn who both attend school here in Bement.

As I enter another year in the Bement School District, I find myself in awe of the students that I get to see on a daily basis. I am truly touched by each student that comes through my door and I look at it as a new opportunity to touch another life with music as well as basic skills for life each and every day. I'm looking forward to another fun-filled year!
