4th Quarter Bulldog Pride and Remarkable Readers

A Bulldog Pride and Remarkable Readers assembly was held each month for the K-5 students at Bement Elementary School. Students who did not receive any office referrals or classroom referrals each month from September through April during the 2016-2017 school year had their names placed on our Bulldog Pride Board. This board is located in the lower hall of the Elementary School. At the end of each quarter, students who made the list each quarter were able to participate in an activity. At the end of the first quarter, students were given an extra recess along with Ice Pops. Turkey Bowling was a hit at the end of the second quarter, and students were able to watch old Warner Brothers, Disney, or Berenstain Bear cartoons for the third quarter. Field Day activities were the award for the fourth quarter.

Each student in the Bement Elementary School who met his or her monthly classroom reading goal from September through April during the 2016-2017 school year had his or her name placed on the “Remarkable Readers” list for that month. Each list was then placed on the designated board in the lower hall of the Elementary School. Mrs. Lawson would come up with a song about reading each month, and she would sing this song to the students at the assembly before handing out their rewards for meeting their goal. Reading rewards were various items like Candy Canes, Tootsie Rolls, Dr. Seuss Erasers, and etcetera.
